        Official Fundraising Agents

        The Annual ‘GingerCane’ Gingerbread Design Competition is hosted, and contributions collected by KR Evans 2 Design Group Ltd (o/a E2 + Associates) in Calgary, AB CANADA (e2.associates). E2 + Associates acts as an Official third-party Fundraiser under an Agency Agreement with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Children’s Hospital Foundations of Manitoba.

        Terms of Participation

        Teams are invited to participate in the competition by building a Gingerbread house design entry and their supporters are invited to contribute financially to the campaign by ‘voting with their dollars’ for the entry of their choice. Every dollar counts as one vote.

         

        The GingerCane Contest is organized from our home city of Calgary, Alberta. The contest intent is to provide a fun & engaging means of raising money for children’s hospital charities while bringing the home building industry together. The money raised for each team will go to the children’s hospital foundation in the jurisdiction of the team is based from. The GingerCane Contest has entered into formal agreements with the principle providers of children’s health services in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. For contributions made to entries from outside of these jurisdictions, to the extent allowable by any body of judicial or regulatory authority, we will endeavor to distribute a pro rata share of net proceeds of the campaign to hospital charities in reasonable proximity to the physical location of those entries.

        Contributing to the Campaign

        Supporters may opt to sponsor the campaign with a direct contribution (Contact christmas@e2.associates for full sponsorship opportunities) or by supporting one or more entries with a team specific contribution.

         

        Voting for an Entry

        To support an entry in the GingerCane contest you may direct your votes to a specific team in one of two ways:

        1. Vote Online: Each team is given a voting page at http://vote.gingercane.com that accepts online voting through financial contributions to the campaign. Each dollar contributed will purchase one vote for the subject entry. Voting starts at Noon on November 24th, 2020.
        2. Send a cheque: You can mail a cheque to us directly. Be sure to provide your contact information and the name of the team to whom who you want to direct your contribution. Cheques should be made payable to the official fundraising organizer ‘E2 + Associates' and mailed to 150 9 Ave SW Floor 23, Calgary, Alberta, CANADA T2P 3H9. They must arrive by 3PM MST on December 11th, 2020 to count towards contest standings. In the spirit of the campaign, all financial contributions that arrive after the cutoff will be added to campaign proceeds and directed to our charitable partners.

        Sponsoring the Campaign Directly

        To support the campaign you may wish to provide:

        1. Direct financial support: Sponsorship opportunities are available and may be made by providing your sponsorship cheque payable to the official fundraising organizer ‘E2 + Associates’ at 150 9 Ave SW  Floor 23, Calgary, Alberta, CANADA T2P 3H9.
        2. A gift-in-kind donation: Every year our generous supporters provide a variety of services including printing, creative, photography, marketing and other business products that help ensure more money goes directly into the hands of the hospital foundations and charities.         Giving by Cheque

        There are several reasons why you may wish to contribute by cheque that include:

        • To avoid the use of PayPal or a credit card;
        • To help us avoid payment processing fees on large donations;
        • You wish to make a contribution in the name of a party that differs from that on the available credit card;
        • You wish to obtain a receipt in the name of a business or individual that differs from that on the available credit card.
        • In order to receive a tax receipt, as applicable (refer to Tax Receipts below) per CRA guidelines, for the current tax year, funds must be received by E2 + Associates no later than December 18, 2020.

        Tax Receipts

        The GingerCane Campaign gathers contributions in the form of sponsorship and voting contributions. Each type of receipt is handled in a different manner. Please read the information below to better understand the differences, and how your valuable contribution will be handled. Additional questions regarding official tax receipts can be directed to the Hospital Foundation contacts found below.

         

        Tax Receipts - Voting Contributions

        Tax receipts for voting contributions made online through www.gingercane.com are subject to the following policies and terms:

        • Official Charitable Tax Receipts are provided for voting contributions directed to a Canadian charitable partner in amounts greater than CDN$20 made by an individual taxpayer. 
        • For receipts greater than CDN$20 for voting contributions made by a corporation or other legal entity – a tax receipt from the charitable organization will be mailed.
        • All Official receipts are issued by the hospital foundations or charity directly.  They can only be prepared and distributed as follows :
          • In the name of the donor (the individual or business name who provided payment);
          • To the address provided on the payment information (either cheque, credit card or PayPal account address);
          • CRA guidelines recommend that all receipts be distributed on or before February 28 of the year following the donation date.
        • All contributions made via the GingerCane PayPal payment gateway will be provided:
          • A PayPal receipt emailed to the primary account email address or can be printed online at the time of contribution;
          • Please note that the transaction will appear on banking statements as “PAYPAL *KREVANS2DES”

        Sponsorship Contributions

        Corporations may opt to support the GingerCane Campaign with a monetary or gift-in-kind sponsorship.

         

        Acknowledgement receipts for monetary sponsorship to the GingerCane campaign are subject to the following policies and terms:

        • Acknowledgement receipts in the full amount of the monetary sponsorship will be provided by E2 + Associates, and wherever possible accompanied by a letter of acknowledgement issued by one of our charity partners.
        • Cheques should be made payable to the official fundraising organizer ‘E2 + Associates’ and mailed to 150 9 Ave SW Floor 23, Calgary, Alberta, CANADA T2P 3H9 on or before December 11th, 2020.

        Receipts for non-monetary (gift-in-kind) sponsorship to the GingerCane Campaign are subject to the following policies and terms:

        • A receipt may be available under certain conditions for a donation of products. To attempt to qualify for a receipt issued by one of the Foundation partners please provide us with:
          • A detailed invoice showing the items provided, their market value and company contact information;
          • Invoices can be sent via email to christmas@e2.associates or mailed to the official fundraising organizer ‘E2 + Associates’ at 150 9 Ave SW Floor 23, Calgary, Alberta, CANADA T2P 3H9 on or before December 11th, 2020.
